Chaetomium

When it comes to mold, Chaetomium is a name that you don't want to hear. This pesky fungus can be found lurking in damp homes and materials such as wallpaper, drywall, and paper, where it produces an enzyme called cellulase that can break down these materials with ease. While it may also be found growing outdoors, it is far more common to find Chaetomium inside our homes due to water damage.

Unfortunately, the presence of this mold is a clear indication of a chronic moisture problem, which means that fixing the source of the issue is imperative before attempting any mold removal. Exposure to Chaetomium can lead to a number of health issues, including skin and nail infections, allergic reactions, asthma, autoimmune diseases, and other unpleasant symptoms. So, if you suspect that you might have Chaetomium growing in your home, it's time to take action and get to the root of the problem.
